The relocation to Dimensions Leisure Centre took place in January 2024 and classes are now available to book!

Recreational Classes

Our recreational classes are focused on providing your children with the combination of fun, enjoyable and challenging activities that will help them learn basic gymnastics that can develop as they get older. They will progress through our skills development and badges programme throughout the year as well as taking part in an “in-house” competition.

Please note: We would like to remind parents and guardians that children all learn at different rates, especially in gymnastics where size, strength and flexibility are such key factors.

Development and Competitive groups

We do have development and competitive groups that gymnasts can progress to, these groups are by invitation only, children are chosen from recreational classes and are invited into these groups on the recommendations of the coaches observing how they train. The coaches that train competitive groups also coach the recreational classes and when spaces are available they will look for children that show a range of qualities that competitive gymnasts need, such as talent, commitment, hard workers, good listeners and respectful children that can become well rounded people as well as accomplished gymnasts.

If your child is chosen to trial for a development or competitive group, you will be contacted by a member of staff to trial and possibly train more hours, meaning fees will be different and British Gymnastics membership will be needed. More information can be obtained at reception around the competitive program.

What you will need

Children are best wearing tight fitting clothing such as shorts/leggings and t-shirt, socks can be worn but bare foot is preferable, long hair needs to be tied up and NO jewellery is to be worn (if ears are newly pierced, studs covered by tape/plasters are allowed). Leotards can be worn but they are not mandatory.

Please make sure your child has water to drink throughout their session. Please note: Juice and fizzy drinks are not allowed whilst training

Our coaches are all qualified and members of the National Governing Body, British Gymnastics. We also have coaches that train competitive gymnasts coaching our recreational classes. All our staff including office staff hold current DBS checks and are first aid trained. Please feel free to approach any staff with any questions you may have.
