What is ESCAPE-Pain?

ESCAPE-pain (Enabling Self-management and Coping with Arthritic Pain using Exercise) is a rehabilitation programme that combines education and exercise to help people manage chronic pain and improve their quality of life. We offer programmes for both lower back pain and chronic hip and knee pain, supporting participants to build confidence, increase activity levels and develop long-term self-management skills.

The programme runs over 6 weeks, with two 60-minute sessions each week. Each session includes 20 minutes of education on pain management and healthy lifestyle habits, followed by 40 minutes of low-impact, instructor-led exercise. Participants join as a group and progress through the programme together from start to finish.

The cost is £15 for the full 12-session programme (delivered over 6 weeks), payable on enrolment.

Please note: This programme is not a cure and will not eliminate pain completely. Instead, it is designed to give you the tools to manage your condition.
