Good Boost - Joint Health and Wellbeing Programme
Good Boost is an innovative, app-based therapeutic exercise programme designed to help you manage a range of conditions, including:
- Joint pain
- Arthritis
- Lower limb Osteoarthritis
- Joint Replacement
- Osteoporosis and Osteopenia
- Back Pain
- And many more!
The Aqua sessions are delivered in the pool at Dimensions Leisure centre and thanks to funding from Sport England, each 45-minute session is available for just £2.50 for the initial 12-week programme: Options for progression or
weekly maintenance sessions available afterwards. £3 per session (self-hire) Land only.
The programme begins with a personalised induction. You'll input your health information into a tablet and create a profile allowing the system to create an exercise plan specifically for you. You can then book your session and start your journey,
Who is Good Boost for?
Suitable for individuals with various musculoskeletal conditions(MSK) including arthritis, osteoporosis, back pain or recovering from joint surgery/injury.
To participate in the programme, individuals should be:
- Aged 18 or older.
- Motivated to improve their wellbeing through physical activity.
- Clinically stable.
- Able to exercise independently.

• Inactivity can lead to increased pain, limit joint function and reduce mobility.
• Initial appointment helps to create a paced, achievable exercise plan.
• Aqua: Suitable for non-swimmers, builds water confidence.

• Choose from group sessions or independent gym use with tablet self-hire.

Getting started with Good Boost
- Book your initial appointment, our trained instructors will support you with each step.
- Choose you preferred exercise option Aqua or land-based.
- Each visit, collect your Good Boost tablet from reception, log-in and follow your tailored programme.
- Rate your session at the end to allow the device to adapt your programme.
- Exercise at your own pace, with friendly expert advice on hand should you need it.

Aqua fitness can be a fantastic starting point or an ongoing option for those seeking a gentler exercise programme. It's proven to enhance both physical and mental wellbeing, with numerous case studies demonstrating its positive impact on quality of life.
Land
The land-based programme offers a tailored approach for participants who prefer to focus on specific areas of their body. As you feel stronger and more confident, you can progress to the fitness section, which focuses on improving strength, balance, and flexibility.
Good Boost land sessions also provide valuable variety for those using the aqua programme.
